In fact, it's so popular, it has other branches in Luzon, like one in Tarlac near SM Tarlac and another bigger venue in Dagupan at the De Venecia Highway.

KAHLUTS

Dagupan City is well-known for their celebration of Bangus Festival specifically one of their events which is called “Kalutan ed Dalan.” This event is a main attraction for local or even international visitors because the event includes grilling of milk fish or ‘bangus’ along Dagupan streets. Everyone may want to come to this celebration or just taste the Dagupan’s grilled Bangus again but sadly, this only comes once in a year. “Khaluts” does not only give us a taste of province with their grilled bangus but also some tasteful dishes that are also grilled. This includes their sisig special and litsong manok (Roasted Chicken). One of the best things about Khaluts is their gravy which you can even eat alone with rice. They have a lot of dishes to choose from and you can even see them doing the grilling before they serve it to you. Khaluts really proved their goal to give the best at the most convenient price. It is a perfect place for the family, couples or ‘barkada’ who wish to enjoy grilled foods and other local delicacies. So if you want to take a voyage in the city of the Dagupan, you better take a stop over at Khaluts. “I think this is its secret. The food here is delicious. Not only bangus, but the ‘pigar-pigar’ (deep-fried beef), the ‘kaleskes’ (innards stew) and others,” he says.

On a typical weekend, a tourist can hop from one restaurant to another to try a variety of bangus and other seafood dishes.

 GORINGS PANCIT MALABON RESTAURANT

It tastes good thanks to the good proportion of its yummy sauce and Pancit Palabok noodles. I think it  needs a whole lot of more garnish. Sure, there was a good amount of egg, lots of spring onion, a generous amount of crushed chicharon and tiny bits of prawn, but it could use other sources of protein like ground meat to get more of that umami. Oysters would probably elevate the dish to a whole new level too. But given that it was less than 300 pesos, who am I to complain! We were able to eat at least 2 plates each, and it was better that expected. I would say its a pretty fair deal.

SHAKEYS

Shakey's Pizza was founded in Sacramento, California, on April 30, 1954, by Sherwood "Shakey" Johnson and Ed Plummer. Johnson's nickname resulted from nerve damage following a bout of malaria suffered during World War II. The parlor opened on a weekend, but since the pizza ovens were not yet completed, only beer was served and Shakey took the profits from beer sales and bought ingredients for pizza the following Monday. Shakey personally played dixieland jazz piano to entertain patrons and hired the original members of the Silver Dollar Jazz Band for $10 per person plus all the beer and pizza they wanted—he soon realized it was cheaper to pay the musicians scale—this brought the music of Lu Watters to the Sacramento area and caused a local sensation. Jazz historian K. O. Eckland gives this band the credit for the jazz revival in Sacramento that extended to the formation of the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society. Shakey's also became known outside Sacramento, not for its pizza, but for the jazz program it sponsored on a regional radio network. Shakey Johnson is honored in the American Banjo Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, for his longtime use of banjo music at his pizza parlors. Other live music, including piano, was also a staple in the old Shakey's parlors.

MCDONALDS

McDonald's is an American hamburger and fast food restaurant chain. It was founded in 1940 as a barbecue restaurant operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald, in San Bernardino, California. In 1948, they reorganized their business as a hamburger stand, using production line principles. The first McDonald's franchise using the arches logo opened in Phoenix, Arizona in 1953. Businessman Ray Kroc joined the company as a franchise agent in 1955 and subsequently purchased the chain from the McDonald brothers. Based in Oak Brook, Illinois, McDonald's confirmed plans to move its global headquarters to Chicago by early 2018. Today, McDonald's is one of the world's largest restaurant chains, serving approximately 69 million customers daily in over 100 countries across approximately 36,900 outlets as of 2016. McDonald's primarily sells hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken products, french fries, breakfast items, soft drinks, milkshakes, wraps, and desserts. In response to changing consumer tastes and after facing criticism for the unhealthy nature of their food, the company has expanded its menu to include salads, fish, smoothies, and fruit. A McDonald's restaurant is operated by either a franchisee, an affiliate, or the corporation itself. The McDonald's Corporation revenues come from the rent, royalties, and fees paid by the franchisees, as well as sales in company-operated restaurants. According to a BBC report published in 2012, McDonald's is the world's second largest private employer (behind Walmart with 1.9 million employees), 1.5 million of whom work for franchises.

PLAZA AND MUSEUM

At the east of the school is the City Plaza. In the 1990s, the plaza also served as the market at the same time. It is where Dagupan’s first election via viva voce was conducted with Juan Villamil becoming the first elective municipal president during the American regime. He served for two terms from 1902 to 1905. He is famous for the Pangasinan translation of Jose Rizal's Mi Ultimo Adios which was inscribed in bronze and now on display at the Rizal monument in Luneta. The plaza became a temporary market site again after the July 16, 1990 earthquake. Remnants of the original City Plaza gate can still be seen at the western side.

Today, the City Plaza houses the City Museum, the Children’s Park, the Senior Citizens’ Park and the amphitheater. The City Plaza is an ideal venue for various events, cultural shows and gatherings. The amphitheater ground is a 200-capacity car park, events venue, skating rink, biking ground rolled into one. Its stage is a large mural by local artist F.M. Baniqued depicting the Dagupan City of yesteryears.

It is in the Senior Citizen’s Park which is on its left side of the plaza where the Jose Rizal monument can be found. The Children’s Park located at the right side of the plaza, features slides and swings for the children. It is also the site of the monument of Andres Bonifacio and other national heroes.
The Dagupan City Museum building was funded and constructed during the term of Hon. City Mayor Alipio Fernandez. It was inaugurated by former President Fidel V. Ramos and Speaker Jose De Venecia Jr. on May 8, 1998. The Museum is currently under the management of the Dagupan City Heritage Commission by virtue of a Memorandum issued by the Hon. FESTIVALS

BANGUS FESTIVAL

Bangus Festival 2017 is a yearly event celebrated every April in Dagupan City of Pangasinan. The reason behind this celebration is the province’s bangus harvest. Benjamin S. Lim is credited with creating the festival in a bid to improve the local bangus sector in the province. Lim is also honoured for his role in the festival’s inception as part of the aim of the festival was to improve Dagupan as the world’s capital of bangus. At the onset, Bangus Festival 2017 was intertwined with the thanksgiving fiesta. This was before it morphed to a fortnight-long project that seeks to improve the visibility of Bangus in the region. Today, the April festivity brings with it the lighting of hundreds of BBQ grills for locals and visitors to indulge in deliciously-made bangus. The grills stretch more than a kilometre long, perhaps showing just how important this Bangus Festival 2017 is to the indigenous people. This grill parade also doubles up as a cooking contest, drawing hundreds of chefs whose culinary prowess is gauged by the excellence of grilling, taste as well as creative presentation. Visitors are often excited to discover that the cooking competition has actually earned the city a spot in the Book of World Records for its role in creating the event with the longest barbecue! In addition to the culinary contest, the festival also boasts an eating competition, dance performances as well as street parties.

FESTIVALS OF THE NORTH

DAGUPAN CITY, April 13 An array of Filipino cultures will be showcased before the eyes when street dancers from various parts of Luzon will assemble in Dagupan City on April 27 to take part in the day-long 'Festivals of the North', the most awaited part of the Bangus Festival, which is returning after a three-year absence due to insistent public demand.
In a bid to add more spice and glitter once again to the top summer spectacle Bangus Festival, organizers are bringing back the 'Festival of the North', which they have proven to be a certified crowd drawer as it did in the past. This gathering of cultures will be brought to the city by 18 top street dancing groups from different towns and cities north of Manila which are champions in their own festivals back home when they competed earlier with fellow home-grown street dancers.

 AND LASTLY..... TONDALIGAN BEACH

One of the most visited beaches in Dagupan, the Bangus (Milkfish) Capital of the World, is Tondaligan Beach. Its fine sands and numerous coconut trees attract people all year-round, but the beach area quite large so there’s no need to worry about running out of good spots. You may rent one of the nipa huts here for a place to stay in. Several vendors also sell freshly-caught fish, and you may buy them at a really cheap price (haggling is reasonable here!). Also, you may ask the nipa hut owners to cook them for you, because being Dagupan locals they are, cooking seafood is their specialty.

TARA NA SA DAGUPAN AT MAKISAYA. BECAUSE IT'S MORE FUN IN DAGUPAN!!!
